Our project Vale Lucida

Our project started in 2019. It is a 170,000 square meter farm area in the midst of untouched nature, with several hills and a lake. The owner originally had a nature-oriented tourism project planned. Whereby there is a peculiarity of a building permit of 760 sqm that can be reactivated. If agriculture is registered, up to 2000 square meters can be built on. Such permits are very rare in this region.

Potential and possibilities are permaculture, organic farming, animal husbandry, family country estates, close-to-nature tourism with holiday homes and glamping sites, garden centre & tree nursery, cultivation of medicinal herbs, production of natural remedies, health & self-development centre.

We are welcoming visitors and we are open for new community members. We want to build up a community with like-minded people to live a harmonious and self-sufficient life.

Where we are

Country and location description

Vale Lucida is located in southern Portugal, 2 km from the Algarve border. The region is Beja in the Alentejo, where you can find a thriving and growing international population. About 2 km away is the village of Moitinhas, with roughly 15 houses and about 25 inhabitants.
It is approximately 35 km to Zambujeira Do Mar on the west coast and approximately 45 km to Portimao in the Algarve. The distance to the airport Faro is about 90 km. In an easterly direction, it is about 15 km to the Santa Clara reservoir, which is one of the largest in Europe. There is also the Lisbon – Faro train station with several daily trains to the capital and the south.
